ECOPOL is a transnational public partnership that aims to accelerate the implementation of eco-innovation policies across Europe. ECOPOL’s mission is to find and test efficient tools for implementing eco-innovation policies at European, national and regional level.
2012 will be the year for DG Enterprise and Industry that will mark the start of a new policy, namely better promoting SME internationalisation through clusters.

Innovation Festival is an INNO Action under the PRO INNO Europe Initiative. Over the last two years, the project has organized a series of events aimed at celebrating innovation across six European cities: Barcelona, Milan, Kortrijk, Lisbon, Vilnius and Tallinn.
SMEs in the EU deserve better support for innovation. In a survey carried out in 2009, a majority of SMEs declared they were dissatisfied with the support they received. While it is evident that direct support for SME innovation is delivered by regions and Member States, it has been the role of the EU to support the establishment of effective innovation support through the utilisation of Structural Funds, the exchange of best practices for example supported by INTEREG, or the development of better practices in pilot actions, for example through Europe INNOVA and PRO INNO Europe®.
As a birthday gift for the first anniversary of Innovation Union, the European Commission has made available a report on the progress and objectives for the nearest decade in Innovation.
The Innovation Union is one of the seven flagship initiatives of the EU2020 strategy for an inclusive economy and aims to improve access to finance for RDI in Europe.
In the report released this month, Innovation can be considered as an important catalyst for an improving economy. For this first year, good progress has been noticed.

36 Mobile Apps and Services entrepreneurs pitched and presented for investment and business opportunities at the London MOBIP Innovation & Investment 2011 held on the 16th & 17th November. This important event which was hosted by GLE with the support of UK Trade and Investment was held in the heart of TechWorld , the largest recognised international technology business event organised annually by UKTI and supported by the UK Government, attended by nearly 2000 visitors.
The World Intellectual Property Organization has just published a report called ‘World Intellectual Property Report - The changing face of Innovation’. The report describes how ownership of IP rights has risen to become one of the world most important strategies of innovating. This new trend was observed through growing investments in innovation and relevant catalysts of the globalization of economy.
