REGIONAL INNOVATION MONITOR Launch and Networking Event (Tuesday, 26 October 2010, Brussels)
The Regional Innovation Monitor (“RIM”) will aim to explain questions like:
- Why have some regions been growing faster than others?
- Why did some policies result in impressive outcomes and subsequently had significant positive impacts on the regional innovation systems?
- What explains that other regions have not achieved the same results, despite the implementation of similar policies?
- Which recommendations would be the most pertinent in order to improve the effectiveness of regional innovation policies?
These are central questions for the policy makers who are looking for novel practices to stimulate the economy and ensure sustainable growth.
The RIM is a European Commission funded initiative that aims at providing the reference framework and tools for the development of more effective and efficient regional innovation strategies that should contribute to the overall efforts of increasing the competitiveness of EU regions. It also aims at facilitating the exchange of good practices on regional innovation policies through the development of an interactive portal. In essence, the REGIONAL INNOVATION MONITOR is about bringing together the whole innovation community of regional stakeholders including policy makers, practitioners, researchers, as well as members of other networks.
To launch the RIM, the European Commission’s Directorate General for Enterprise and Industry and the REGIONAL INNOVATION MONITOR Consortium, led by Technopolis Group Belgium, and the brussels’ liaison office of Silesia have the pleasure to invite you to:
