PRO INNO Europe® is an initiative of Directorate General Enterprise and Industry which aims to become the focal point for innovation policy analysis and policy cooperation in Europe, with the view to learning from the best and contributing to the development of new and better innovation policies in Europe. The ultimate aim is to help European enterprises to innovate better and faster and to optimize and leverage complementarities between the various innovation support measures that exist throughout Europe (be it at regional, national and Community level). To achieve this, PRO INNO Europe® gives a prominent role to national and regional innovation policy and innovation support actors.

New FP7 call "REGIONS of KNOWLEDGE 2011" for trans-national co-operation between regional research driven cluster published

On 20 July 2010 the European Commission has published a new call for proposals under the programme "Regions of Knowledge" inviting trans-national consortia of regional research driven clusters in the domain of sustainable transport to submit proposals for co-ordination actions.

Bilbao Declaration on eco-innovation in SMEs

Overcoming Barriers to Eco-innovation also means overcoming the cancellation of the 8th European Forum on Eco-Innovation due to the transportation disorder in April. In order to exploit the contributions that both speakers and delegates have made in preparation of the forum, the organisers facilitated the creation of the ‘Bilbao Declaration on eco-innovation in SMEs’.

INNO-Learning Platform releases its 2010 Annual Report

The INNO-Learning Platform just released its 2010 Annual Report, reflecting the findings from the 3rd learning cycle of this PRO INNO Europe® project, which ran from October 2006 and was completed early 2010.

The 2010 Annual Report synthesizes the lessons drawn from the 3rd learning cycle and highlights the main implications and recommendations for policy learning and cooperation on behalf of European innovation policy makers and innovation support managers. The Annual Report also presents lessons extracted from the INNO-Net and INNO-Action projects (1st generation) that were running until the end of 2009 and those that were launched in the 2nd half of 2009 (the 2nd generation of INNO-Nets and INNO-Actions).

On occasion of the Belgian EU Presidency, the Federal Public Service Economy organizes a seminar entitled “From knowledge to competitiveness” to be held on September 14th at Wolubilis in Brussels (251 Paul Hymans Avenue - 1200 Woluwe-Saint-Lambert).

The purpose of this seminar is to present and discuss three tools developed by the federal public authority to support innovation as a factor of competitive and sustainable growth. The seminar will focus on standardization, intellectual property and public procurements.
