In view of the discrepancy between the need for transnational innovation and the offer of national programmes, the DEFINE project aims to encourage the formulation of a policy response that is more adapted to transnational innovation processes in value-chains. It thus intends to better use the innovation possibilities possibilities of the transnational system, which are currently not fully exploited.

The final conference of this PRO INNO Europe-initiated project was held on 9 and 10 September in Linz, coordinated by TMG - Upper Austria. The conference, addressing not only the CEE-ClusterNetwork and its regions but also ECA members and all European regions and countries, had an international flavour, with participants from across Europe interested in the development of better European innovation and cluster policies.
