The EurOffice Services proposal builds on the Euro Office initiative launched by the HIGHEST thematic network within PAXIS. EurOffice was initially launched by a limited number of partners from France and Finland before being extended to the entire HIGHEST, other PAXIS members and private incubators collaborating with each other. The original EurOffice Services were limited to helping entrepreneurs set up a business outside their home country by providing office space and some local services. One of the most important activities was to put business people in touch with the relevant R&D decision makers.
The concept was simple, but very successful. At the same time, several new examples of good practice aiming at the internationalisation of small innovative companies were developed by other PAXIS thematic networks, such as START and PANEL. In addition, private and public organisations involved in the creation and the development of small innovative firms jointly developed other successful initiatives focusing on internationalisation.
The most important activities of the EurOffice Services are networking and to promote and foster existing examples of good practice that support the international development of small innovative firms.
The services are provided in a simple and pragmatic way via incubators and science parks and include:
- specific office facilities
- welcome and soft landing packages
- training courses
- pre-incubation and incubation techniques
- self-evaluation software tools
- accompaniment and coaching techniques
- business accelerator methods
- methodologies for marketing, sales and access to large customers, access to finance and facilities abroad for business internationalisation.
The strategic objective of the EurOffice Service is to deploy its products to for the benefit of small innovative European entrepreneurs via a network of certified incubators and science parks in many different parts of the world. This will help innovative European companies to find the right place to develop their business according to their business strategies and plans.
The EurOffice initiative offers excellent opportunities for networking between the regions, especially for innovative start-ups and SMEs. Services and facilities are tailored to the needs of SMEs and can be adapted to individual requirements by agreement between the user company and relevant EurOffice network member.
