EASY
The EASY project will address both the supply side and the demand side of investment in knowledge-based businesses and develop new common transnational models of best practice in order to help improve the possibilities of and equity investment in early stage innovative businesses.
The level of equity investment in early stage businesses in the US is four times higher than in Europe. There is a general lack of connectivity between seed, angel and VC funds. Notably, there are not enough strategies or models to support cross-border investment. Only a few EU Member States offer tax incentives and the use of public funds to stimulate equity investment is fragmented.
On the demand side, many early stage innovating businesses fail to be ready for investment and are unaware of the requirements of the investment process. At the same time, there is a shortage of investors who are willing to invest in innovating knowledge-based businesses. The aim of this project is to address both the supply side and the demand side of investment in knowledge-based businesses, and to develop new common transnational models of best practice.
