Working Area 2
Working area 2: Identifying financial resources to support cluster policies
As part of their benchmarking activities, INNET partners have made a first analysis of their own innovation programmes and funding activities, including the funding of cluster organisations.
But the variety of situations requires a more in-depth study on a broader basis to identify financial resources to support cluster policies.
In this context, the working area on “Identifying financial resources to support cluster policies” will combine benchmarking activities, case studies, meetings with public/private funding organisations, workshops, and eventually interviews of specialists in order to
- Identify existing financing resources from Member States to support cluster programmes, combining document studies and case studies;
- Analyse the coherence and complementarities of these tools combined with the use of Community programmes to finance cluster initiatives, and how the New state Aid Rules can be used in this cluster context.
Impact and expected results include an overview of schemes, instruments and resources to fund cluster policies, with possible complementarities, to be used by cluster policy makers.
The leadership of working area 2 is assigned to INNET.
