INNO-Metrics

INNO-METRICS

The INNO-Metrics initiative analyses and benchmarks innovation performance in Europe, with a view to identifying innovation strengths and weaknesses at European and national level and measuring progress over time. The module builds on the European Innovation Scoreboard (EIS), a widely recognised tool benchmarking innovation performance in Europe.

Key activities

The Innovation Scoreboard is an annual assessment of innovation performance in the individual Member States of the European Union. Innovation performance is analysed with the help of a set of indicators which are measured in the same way in all Member States. Consequently, the scoreboard is a benchmarking tool that can be used to compare all participating countries against each other.

Main Beneficiaries

Policy makers, programme managers, innovation practitioners and the wider innovation community (academia, researchers, industry, professional and industrial associations, trade unions and opinion formers).

Expected Results and Impact

INNO-Metrics aims to enable Member States to see their strengths and weaknesses and to help them formulate policies and programmes. It is a starting point for discussion and action, a factual foundation for future measures. It can be used as a tool to identify priorities, to articulate strategies and to measure the success of those strategies.
