Key 'take aways' from the high level round table of innovation experts in preparation of the European Innovation Plan

A high level roundtable was organised by DG Enterprise and Industry on 8 and 9 June 2009 in Brussels to bring together leading innovation experts for an open and informal discussion on future EU innovation policy, as part of the preparations for a new European Innovation Plan.The discussion was focused around four topics:
  • A societal challenges approach to innovation;
  • High level targets for EU innovation policy;
  • 'New' forms of innovation, creativity and networks;
  • Public sector innovation.

Ideas for actions in these four fields developed during this two-day event are summarised in a note prepared by Charlotte Arwidi, Unit D1 Innovation Policy Development, and available for download here.
