in

The final conference of this PRO INNO Europe-initiated project was held on 9 and 10 September in Linz, coordinated by TMG - Upper Austria. The conference, addressing not only the CEE-ClusterNetwork and its regions but also ECA members and all European regions and countries, had an international flavour, with participants from across Europe interested in the development of better European innovation and cluster policies.

The conference, opened by Mr Viktor Sigl, Minister of Economic Affairs of Upper Austria, gave an overview of the milestones of the CEE-ClusterNetwork project. The benefits for the participating regions, especially in terms of transregional cooperation, and future needs, were discussed at governmental and administrative levels, and also from the cluster managers' perspectives.

The audience was given an outlook of the future perspectives of cluster development by the Support for Innovation Unit of the Directorate-General for Enterprise and Industry, entitled 'Reviewing innovation and clusters: Changing concepts, new challenges and policy responses'.

Presentations were also made of three recently initiated European projects, showing the ongoing collaboration beyond the project duration of the four INNO-Net projects.
