Stockholm, November 2009
Annual Partnering Event November 2009
Over 130 innovation professionals, innovation policy makers and stakeholders from more than 20 countries gathered in the Swedish capital to discuss the grand challenges for the future of innovation support in Europe.
The Stockholm partnering event was the first joint meeting of the new INNO-Nest and INNO-Actions funded by the European Commission under the PRO INNO Europe® initiative, which have taken off in parallel with the preparations for a new European Innovation Action Plan as part of the EU’s 2020 Strategy. Organised by the European Commission’s Enterprise and Industry DG and hosted by the Swedish Government Agency for Innovation Systems VINNOVA, the event was inspired by the Lund Declaration issued by the Swedish Presidency of the EU, which calls for a new deal among European institutions and Member States, in which European and national instruments are well aligned and cooperation builds on transparency and trust'.
During the 2-day plenary part of the PRO INNO Europe® Partnering Event, the INNO-Nets and INNO-Actions exchanged ideas about the future of innovation support in Europe and how the PRO INNO Europe® initiative can contribute to the piloting, testing and validation of effective innovation support measures and their roll-out throughout Europe through learning and cooperation among innovation support actors.
