Annual Partnering Event May 2009

Almost 100 innovation support actors attended the second PRO INNO Europe® Annual Partnering Event on 12 and 13 May in Rotterdam, the Netherlands. The occasion provided the PRO INNO Europe® community and other innovation stakeholders with the opportunity to share experiences regarding transnational cooperation initiatives and prospects in the field of innovation support, and to exchange views on the effectiveness of innovation support in Europe.

Forthcoming collaboration opportunities and needs were also highlighted, with a particular emphasis on the value to promote transnational partnerships in innovation support further and to develop new forms of service delivery to get to more effective innovation support throughout Europe. Learning among innovation support actors and cooperation or twinning over promising innovation support measures is viewed as key in that regard.

Besides the plenary and parallel break-out sessions, the event included a visit to the 'Young Entrepreneurs Society' in Delft (YES!Delft), an entrepreneurship incubator located at the campus of the Technical University of Delft.

The event concluded with a round table discussion between representatives from several European countries, who exchanged views on Member States’ economic recovery programmes and the contribution that innovation support can play in that regard.
