Inno-Net conference: 'Strengthening the European way: Regional cluster cooperation for a wider perspective on innovation policy'

As coordinator of the Inno-Net project, the CEE-ClusterNetwork TMG-Upper Austria is organising this final conference of the Pro Inno Europe-initiated project.  The conference is addressed not only to the CEE-ClusterNetwork and its regions but also to all ECA members, European regions and countries interested in the improvement of European innovation and cluster policies for a prosperous Europe.

Expert workshop on international cluster cooperation

The INNO-Nets CEE ClusterNetwork will host a one-day expert workshop on the topic of international cluster cooperation. Members of the European Cluster Alliance (ECA) have been invited to attend.
The workshop aims to generate practical discussions regarding:

  • tools and instruments currently used for international cluster cooperation (for the particular benefit of small and medium-sized enterprises);
  • the role of cluster organisations in the internationalisation process (existing barriers for internationalisation and how to remove them);
  • strategies for (and financing of) internationalisation activities.

PRO-INNO Europe second annual event

It is with great pleasure that we invite you to the second PRO INNO Europe Annual Partnering Event at the Van Nelle Design Factory, Rotterdam (Netherlands) on 12 and 13 May 2009.

Part of a series of events in 2009 in recognition of the European Year of Creativity and Innovation, the PRO INNO Europe® Annual Partnering Event will be an opportunity for innovation agencies and policy actors to share experiences and successes from the ongoing INNO-Net and INNO-Action projects, and to discuss lessons in promoting transnational cooperation in support of innovation. This event is also open to innovation agencies, cluster organisations and other groups whose activities relate to innovation policy, cross-border learning, and innovation cooperation.

Next Cluster Academy at Clusterland, Upper Austria in Linz/AT

In total, 30 representatives from 15 European countries attended the June 2008 event in Linz to get acquainted with the successful set-up and management of cluster organisations in Upper Austria. Clusterland Oberösterreich GmbH delivered a special three-day training workshop (the first of its kind in this form). Due to the high demand and excellent feedback, a follow-up session has been set for 21 to 23 April 2009.

European Conference in Berlin: 'Cluster Policy and Management - European and Regional Initiatives for Innovation'

The objective of the European Conference 'Cluster Policy and Management - European and Regional Initiatives for Innovation' (held in Berlin on 22 and 23 September 2008) is to discuss good practices in cluster policy and management at regional, national and international level.

Why Cluster Policy?

The European Commission has launched new initiatives to encourage national and regional governments to develop regional clusters. These clusters enable companies, research organisations and regions to join forces for their mutual development and innovation.

CLUSTER ACADEMY: How to build up and manage cluster initiatives — 10 years of experience in Upper Austria

The Austrian 'Clusterland Oberösterreich' is organising a workshop on cluster setup and management, based on its 10-year experience as a successful model of a 'cluster region'.  

Upper Austria with its Clusterland Oberösterreich GmbH is considered a truly successful model of a 'cluster region', due to its concentrated and visible efforts in supporting the set-up and professional management of 5 clusters and 3 network initiatives over more than 10 years.

To meet the steady demand from international colleagues, cluster managers, facilitators and regional or national stakeholders supporting or planning to support the development of such initiatives, the workshop will explain the key factors underlying the success of Upper Austria in its clustering activities. 

PROINNO Europe annual partnering event

The first PROINNO Europe annual partnering event will be held in Warsaw on 22 and 23 April 2008.

This one-and-a-half day event will be an opportunity for the PRO INNO Europe community to share experiences regarding their collaboration and benefits gained from the ongoing INNO-Net and INNO-Action projects, and also to promote forthcoming collaboration opportunities.

Discussions will be focused on how to better foster complementarities between regional, national and European innovation support mechanisms. In particular, emphaisis will be placed on the need to promote further transnational networking and new forms of service delivery for better support of innovation at European level.

Throughout the event, there will be plenty of opportunities for the participants to engage with the speakers, discuss their views and raise questions.
