Collaboration between Innovation Programmes and Policy Agencies in Europe
Considering the importance of innovation to achieve the goals of the Lisbon strategy and secure long-term sustainable economic growth in Europe, the Commissions DG Research and DG Enterprise and Industry have decided to prepare a joint ERA-NET call on collaboration between Innovation Agencies on innovation programmes to be published in October/November 2005.
As ERA-NET is part of FP6 it focuses strongly trans-national networking and coordination of research programmes. Specific innovation activities bridging the gap between invention and market - are only partly covered by research programmes.
The objective of the Workshop will be to discuss areas and opportunities where national Innovation Agencies - government bodies involved in the design and management of policy programmes and/or the implementation of these programmes - may want to develop joint programmes or activities.
During the workshop existing trans-national and regional collaboration programmes (e.g. PAXIS, Nordic Innovation Centre) and existing ERA-NET projects with relation to innovation will be presented and discussed. Furthermore the workshop provides an opportunity to express interests in this ERA-NET call, discuss opportunities for collaboration, and identify interesting topics for future collaboration in the area of innovation. The workshop will be an important occasion where possible thematic areas for the Call of Proposals are explored.
