CLUNET international workshop: 'Growing clusters through internationalisation and networking policies'
Cluster networking initiatives' scope and future challenges will be explored in this international workshop which will bring together regional, national and Europe-wide policy makers, cluster managers and other experts from Europe and Montreal, Canada.
Following a first mapping of cluster policies in 14 regions, CLUNET is currently running several cluster cooperation, learning and networking projects, some of which will be also presented at the workshop to be held in Madrid on 5 June. Topics include cross-border cluster initiatives, a model for the physical infrastructures needed by the businesses within a cluster, and videos of cluster managers and incubator experiences, among others. Future EU cluster policy and cluster internationalisation challenges will be also presented by Directorate-General for Enterprise and Industry's Mr Reinhard Büscher.
The day before, on 4 June, managers of life science clusters and other regional experts in the fields of training and management skills' improvement in life science companies will have an opportunity to exchange experiences and to discuss possible cross-border cooperation activities. This will be preceded by visits to two Madrid biotech cluster support infrastructures and institutions on the afternoon of 3 June.
The CLUNET INNO-network is aimed at sharing experiences and implementing cross-border cooperation initiatives to support cluster growth and innovation, with a special focus on cluster internationalisation and incubation policies.
