EPISIS

The main objective of the EPISIS project is to facilitate transnational cooperation between policy-makers and innovation agencies in the field of services innovation through parallel policy, strategic and operational level activities. The project shall offer an open platform for discussion on policy recommendations, test new policy approaches in support of services innovation and organise three policy-oriented international conferences.

Proceedings from the 1st EPISIS Conference

The proceeding report of the first EPISIS conference is now available online. The conference was organised in Copenhagen on 14.-16. June, 2010. Dr. Thorsten Eggers has been the Head of the Work Design and Services Department of the Project Management Agency of the German Aerospace Center (PT-DLR) since 2009. Previous career stops were PT-DLR and the German Federal Ministry of Education and Research (BMBF) in the field of regional innovation initiatives, as well as the Fraunhofer Institute for Systems and Innovations Research (Fraunhofer ISI) in the field of industrial and service innovations.

Allan is Head of the UK’s Dept for Business Services Policy Unit. His team was responsible for the publication of the Government report on “Supporting Innovation in Services” in 2008 and, most recently in March 2010, for an interim report on “Professional and Business Services: A 2020 Vision for Growth”. In addition to EPISIS, he has also been invited to Chair a Panel of Experts to advise DG Enterprise on how services and service innovation can contribute to fulfilling the EU 2020 Strategy for smarter, sustainable and inclusive growth. It expects to report by the end of the year.
