Hungary: Innovation and economic development – current state and perspectives

On 16 December 2011, the Hungarian National Innovation Office reported about the conference entitled “Innovation and Economic Development” which took place on 8th of December 2011. The conference provided a forum for discussing whether Hungary can become one of the most innovative countries in Europe and what are the major challenges ahead of the Hungarian innovation policy.

In the course of history, the “Etats Généraux” (stati generali, in Italian), i.e. political bodies representing the various classes of citizens, were called when great dangers were impending. The lack of innovation dynamics in the economy can be seen as such a risk. To address challenges in the Italian innovation system, experts in the field and representatives of the public administrations, research centres and universities, gathered in Rome to agree on a roadmap for innovation that can be proposed to the new government.

Greetings from the first EPISIS INNO-Net conference

The first international conference of the INNO-Net EPISIS (European policies and instruments to support service innovation) was held on June 14- 16, in Copenhagen, Denmark. The event was organised together with the Europe INNOVA initiative under the topic ‘Services innovation as a catalyst for the Europe 2020 Strategy’.
