DME Award: Challenging European businesses

The DME Award is not just another design award. It is a business award recognising the skills and leadership of management to implement design in their business for commercial success. Design is one of Europe's greatest resources and is rapidly being recognised as a key element of innovative and successful businesses.

Companies and organisations across Europe are challenged to apply for the DME Award by demonstrating how design is integrated in their strategy, management and processes to achieve commercial gains. The DME Award has six categories: Large, Medium, Small and Micro businesses, Non Profit/Government organisations and New comers.

Recognition of excellent quality and successful design management

The DME Award aims at becoming a sustainable competition awarding exemplary companies and organisations every year. The number of applicants and the overall quality of entries illustrates the success of the 2007 edition of this new and exciting award and demonstrates that numerous companies have already recognized the positive impact that the use of design can have in their business performances.

Recognition by the Award Jury demonstrates leadership in innovation, implementing change and excellence in management. Winners will receive official recognition of their excellent quality and successful design management before a distinguished international audience and will participate in a (travelling) exhibition introducing their use of Design Management to both the public and the media. In this respect the DME Award is also an excellent marketing instrument to communicate quality and competitiveness not only to customers and clients but also internally to staff, increasing morale and productivity.
